Department : Public Health Dentistry

Biomedical waste is categorized in 10 categories and each of these has a different method of treatment and disposal which is detailed in the following table :

Waste sharps

Needles, syringes, scalpels, blades, glass, etc. that may cause puncture and cuts. This includes both used and unused sharps

Wastes comprising of outdated, contaminated and discarded medicines
