A dental implant is a structure made up of alloplastic material implanted into the oral tissues beneath the mucosa &/or periosteum &/or within or though the bone to provide retention & support for a fixed/ removable dental prosthesis

Steps involved:

1. Presence of missing teeth

2. Surgically placement of implant(fixture) in the bone and placement of cover screw

3. After 3-4 months cover screw is removed and healing cap/ gingival former is placed to form the gingival collar. After 15-20 days the healing cap is removed and abutment is placed & impression is taken & then a new crown is placed.
