It includes use of bone grafts, membranes (GTR, GBR). Bone grafting procedure involves placement of bone graft in periodontal bone defect to achieve regeneration of lost bone volume.
Autogenous Bone Graft: Bone grafts obtained from same individual on whom bone grafting has to be performed.
Isograft: It is the material that is taken from one individual & transplanted into another genetically identical individual.
Allograft: Graft obtained from genetically dissimilar members of same species.
Xenograft: They are derived from non-human animal sources such as bovine, grafts transferred between genetically dissimilar members of different species.
Alloplast: They are synthetic bone substitutes.
